3. Faster Sketches
The sketching workflow has been redesigned with fewer menu picks, so it’s much easier to set up the sketch, and much quicker to exit the sketching environment. This productivity improvement reduces the overall time to create and modify features. With the new sketcher palette, you can access and re-use common sections much faster. You simply select the saved section and place it within your sketch, thus improving the overall creation of standard sections by 55%. You will also see up to 80% faster performance when modifying large, complex sketches.
4. Faster Sheetmetal
The modern, more consistent user interface makes it easier to create and modify sheetmetal parts. Sheetmetal features in Pro/ENGINEER now ‘understand’ your design intent, and automatically incorporate necessary geometry to help you quickly create your designs. For example, when creating multiple walls in a single feature, Pro/ENGINEER automatically includes a miter cut, to avoid overlapping geometry. With these improvements, you can create sheetmetal features up to 90% faster, and reduce the total number of features by up to 90%.

We’ve updated the manufacturing user interface so it's now more intuitive and consistent with the rest of Pro/ENGINEER. Also, a new, modern and familiar user interface for the tool manager makes it easier and faster to find the right tool for the job. Using our new AssemblySense™ technology, you can now embed rules and logic into assembly instructions. For example, you can specify that only bolts with a 1/4-20 thread be assembled into a specific hole having a 1/4-20 thread. Or, you can specify that a bearing’s inner surface have a certain finish in order to be assembled onto a shaft. This technology ensures that your designs not only fit together, but they also function properly.
7. Smarter Sharing
Many companies today need to share design information with partners and suppliers, but don‘t want third party companies accessing their internal database. As a result, models must be downloaded outside of the database, and changes must be reconciled later, manually.
With our new portable workspaces, it's now easy to share design data stored in Pro/INTRALINK® or Windchill® and its associated metadata. Partners or suppliers can work in a secure, portable workspace, where all changes are tracked. It’s easy to then assimilate the changes back into the database. This capability is useful when working offsite on a laptop, as you can easily incorporate changes back into the database later.

Today, FEA specialists are scarce, and typically, design engineers aren’t performing FEA often enough to become skilled with the process. Consequently, design engineers must either follow an inefficient process or wait for the help of an FEA specialist. Today’s engineers need seamless and timely access to product development information. With Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 3.0, you can benefit from several improvements to the interoperability between Pro/ENGINEER and Pro/INTRALINK or Windchill. For example, bulk item reporting is automated. Downloaded data is automatically checked out when modified, so you only check out the data you need. Improvements to the Difference Report provide a more detailed change history. Lastly, a new column in the model tree conveniently reports the database status of any item.
