Pro/ENGINEER - Advanced Parts (3 days)

The advanced training increases user`s knowledge that enable effective modeling of more complex parts.

Content:

  • Advanced solid feature forms (non-parallel blends and sweeps)
  • Comparison of all round types, combinations of rounds and drafts
  • Advanced feature operations (advanced patterns, copies, groups, user-defined features)
  • Springs with variable pitch (helical sweeps)
  • Feature failure resolution techniques
  • Relations, design intent in models
  • Family tables in parts
  • Simplified representations of parts
  • Programming possibilities in Pro/ENGINEER

Prerequisites:

  • Pro/ENGINEER - Basics
  • at least one week of practical Pro/ENGINEER experience

Pro/ENGINEER - Detailed Drawings (2 days)

The training lectures creation of complete production documentation of parts and assemblies.

Content:

  • Drawing view creation and view modifications
  • Detailing (dimensioning, dimension tolerances, notes, 2D-non-parametric sketching)
  • Standard symbols and company specific symbols
  • Geometric tolerances in the drawings
  • Multi-sheet drawings
  • Multi-model drawings
  • Drawing mode settings
  • Reports - updated drawing tables
  • Formats and templates
  • Assembly drawings

Prerequisites:

  • Pro/ENGINEER - Basics
  • at least one week of practical Pro/ENGINEER experience

Pro/ENGINEER - Advanced Assemblies (2 days)

The training brings the knowledge of effective assembly techniques and large assembly management.

Content:

  • Component operations (insert, pattern, suppress, resume, copy)
  • Creating parts and features in Assembly mode
  • Packaging - assembly creation without constraints
  • Merging and cutting out assembly components
  • Large assembly management (usage of layers, simplified representations, zones, envelopes)
  • Layouts, component interchangeability
  • Skeleton models
  • Kinematics schemes in Pro/ENGINEER, usage in assemblies
  • Family Tables, formatting of BOMs

Prerequisites:

  • Pro/ENGINEER - Basics
  • at least two weeks of practical Pro/ENGINEER experience

Pro/SURFACE - Surface Modeling (3 days)

This training course focuses on creating complex parts using suitable combination of datums, surfaces, free-form surfaces and solid features. Surface Modeling is set up for Pro/ENGINEER users who need to create geometrically complex parts.

Content:

  • Basics of surface modeling, terminology and design methods
  • Simple surfaces (basic forms, flat surface, copied surface)
  • Surface operations (merge, trim, extend, offset, round, transform, replace, patch)
  • Advanced datums (datum points, datum curves, sketched splines and conics, curve network)
  • Boundary surfaces, free-form surfaces
  • Simplification of surface structure, modification of boundary conditions
  • Advanced swept surfaces (variable section sweep, swept blend)
  • Curve analysis, surface analysis, Gauss curvature
  • Modifications of imported surfaces from other CAD systems

  • Pro/ENGINEER - Advanced Parts
  • at least two weeks of practical Pro/ENGINEER experience

Pro/SHEETMETAL - Modeling of Sheetmetal Parts (2 days)

The creation of sheetmetal parts and their flat patterns using suitable combination of sheetmetal features.

Content:

  • Transformation of standard solid part to sheetmetal part
  • Modeling of sheetmetal parts using sheetmetal features
  • Sheetmetal feature operations
  • Flat patterns from sheetmetal parts
  • Drawings of sheetmetal parts including also flat patterns

Prerequisites:

  • Pro/ENGINEER - Basics

Pro/WELDING - Creation of Welds (1 day)

The training explains the creation of welded assemblies using the Pro/WELDING functionality.

Content:

  • Creation of welds in assembly by setting their form and length
  • Definition of weld quality and used electrodes
  • Report generation including list of all welds in the assembly and total lengths
  • Usage of weld symbols in drawings

Prerequisites:

  • Pro/ENGINEER - Basics

Pro/ENGINEER Mechanisms - Modeling & Investigating Mechanisms (2 days)

Explains useful possibilities of mechanism creation and motion simulation to experienced users.

Content:

  • Basic possibilities of MDX (Mechanism Design Extension), mechanism components
  • Creation of kinematical assemblies of mechanisms (joints, drivers)
  • Motion simulation, different configurations of mechanism for drawings
  • Advanced connections (cams, necks)
  • Create movies and images
  • Animations using DAO (Dynamic Animation Option)
  • Motion envelopes, interference checks
